SANZIGEN

After freelancing for some time, Hiroaki Matsuura joined GONZO for a year. He then founded the freelance group “3D” with friends in 2003. In March 2006, along with Daisuke Suzuki, Hiroshi Adachi, Shinsaku Nagura, and Kentaro Shiga, he established Sanjigen Co., Ltd. Initially, they operated from a room at Studio Easter 2nd Studio, but later moved to the 1st Enomoto Building on the same site. The head office was relocated to the 17th floor of the Integral Tower in Tokyo in 2011. They also have branch offices in Kyoto, Fukuoka, and Nagoya. In May 2019, a second studio was opened in Tachikawa City, Tokyo, expanding their operations nationwide.

Their main business includes 2D digital drawing, 3D monitor graphics, shooting, editing, and planning and production of works, particularly 3DCG production for animation. They have collaborated with Ordet for production.

Since February 23, 2018, they have been broadcasting “Rushroom” on YouTube every Friday at 21:00. Hiroaki Matsuura and Aya Hinano from Idol Premony serve as MCs, while Editz handles shooting and editing. The program focuses on teaching animation creation, with a particular emphasis on Sanzigen’s works.

In 2012, Sanzigen received the 17th Animation Kobe Award Special Award.

On December 20, 2019, Sanzigen entered into a capital tie-up with Bushiroad. Prior to the alliance, Bushiroad was one of the major shareholders of Ultra Super Pictures. The purpose of the partnership is to produce high-quality animation works, specifically for the “BanG Dream!” series.
