Artland Inc Studios

Artland Inc. is a renowned Japanese animation studio, acclaimed for its exceptional anime series like Mushishi, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and Katekyō Hitman Reborn!. Originally a subsidiary of Marvelous Entertainment Inc., it later became an independent kabushiki-gaisha.

In 2010, Animation Studio Artland Inc. was established as a spin-off of Artland Inc.’s animation department. Over time, ownership stakes changed, with Emon initially acquiring 51%, but eventually, the company faced financial challenges, leading to the transfer of stakes to LEVELS, a Tokyo-based company. Outsourcing was a significant factor in the debt incurred by Artland, amounting to nearly 90% of its production costs.
